Project Overview
The Insuravita Insurance platform required a secure and dynamic quotation workflow to connect potential customers with real-time insurance offers. The original WordPress setup suffered from slow performance, outdated plugins, and inconsistent hosting reliability.
My task was to build a quotation engine that could fetch live insurance offers via the SureHits API and modernize the entire website for speed, scalability, and SEO.
Intelligent Quotation Workflow
I extended the client’s existing Gravity Forms workflow by building a custom WordPress plugin that hooked into the form submission process.
When a user completed the form, the plugin triggered the SureHits JavaScript API, passing validated parameters such as ZIP code and insurance category. The SureHits API responded with HTML-rendered quotation results from multiple insurers, which were dynamically injected into the same page — creating a seamless user experience without page reloads.
Development & Performance Optimization
Beyond the API integration, I refactored the theme and front-end assets using modern ES6 JavaScript compiled with Webpack.
The site was migrated from shared hosting to a managed VPS environment with NGINX caching, firewall protection, and SSL termination.
This modernization brought dramatic results — page load times dropped from 19 seconds to under 2 seconds, achieving a 93% Pingdom performance score.
Security & SEO Enhancements
A full security audit eliminated unnecessary plugins and hardened the site with a web-application firewall.
The new theme was rebuilt with semantic markup and fast-loading templates, boosting SEO and improving the site’s visibility in competitive insurance search results.
