A digital agency partner engaged Villiers | Vision | Works to engineer a secure, server-free verification flow for a limited-edition Shopify campaign promoting The Outer Worlds 2 × 5-Hour Energy collaboration. The campaign required customers to access a private digital experience after checkout — but Shopify’s new Checkout Extensibility environment had just removed traditional scripting and API methods.
Without backend logic or custom JavaScript inside checkout, verifying legitimate purchases had to happen entirely on the front end — within Shopify’s strict sandbox.

Rather than exposing logic through server calls, the system uses abstracted validation mechanisms embedded within Shopify’s own page structure — delivering a smooth and invisible verification layer between checkout and content access.
All sensitive logic is isolated, encrypted, and time-bound, ensuring that each customer interaction remains unique and temporary.
